I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted by this article to buy a harness and start taking Harriet on walks in the park.

Reverb11: Day 8
8. Limits. We often learn about our limits the hard way. Were there any limits you realized this past year? Alternately, what self-imposed limits were you able to move beyond this year?
The most limiting factors in my life this year were definitely time and money, both are frustratingly finite and there are so many things I want to do (make more quilts! visit new places! get driving lessons!).

7. Giving. “The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give your gift away.” (David Viscott) What is your gift to give?
I would like to think that my “gift to give” is my creativity, but ultimately, it may end up being my Bar membership. One has the capacity to help a lot of people and do a lot of good as a lawyer…

Reverb11: Day 6
6. Ease What can you do to add ease to 2012?
I’m pretty convinced that no matter what I do, life is not going to be easy, and 2012 won’t be an exception - the year is bound to be a challenging one. And I can’t say that I altogether object to that. Growth comes from challenge.

20. Community Where have you discovered community, online or otherwise, in 2011? What community would you like to join, create or more deeply connect with in 2012?
I went to yoga/pilates somewhat religiously from February to about July of this year. It was great! Not only did I feel as though I was honoring my body, but I felt as though I was becoming one of those people for whom...

5. Reading What has been your favorite book (or books if you can’t pick just one) that you’ve read this year?
This is kind of boring and not at all revealing, but I loved “A Visit From the Goon Squad” by Jennifer Egan. That’s all. I just loved it. I thought it was phenomenal, and I think that you should read it, too.

19. Joy. What does a joyful life look like for you?
A joyful life is one in which I laugh every day, am comfortable and secure in my own skin, have my health, have people in my life that I love, and have a place that I can call home. I am grateful to be able to say that I have four out of the five right now and am working on the fifth (comfort and security in my own skin) every day.

Dear Corporate Finance,
You were such a bitch to me this semester, so you know what I did, I took 55 minutes out of an allowed 120 to complete your final exam. And you know what, I’m also pretty sure I whipped your ass 6 ways till Sunday.
Suck it.
Best,
Loreal

Reverb11: Day 18
18. Ordinary Sparkling Moments. Reflect on the ordinary moments that bring you joy (e.g., the tea pot whistling, the sun setting). What moments would you like to relish in the coming year?
Dawn is my favorite time of day. Seeing the sun rise makes me feel alone - everything is so still and quiet, not many people are typically out and about - yet connected - here is this natural process that...

4. Beauty. How have your standards of beauty shifted in the past year?
I don’t know that my standards of beauty have changed generally speaking - in my opinion, “standards” isn’t the right word, and I think that I’m pretty open to the variety ways in which other people can be “beautiful” - but they certainly have changed as they pertain to me...

17. Bliss. What are three things that make you feel the most blissed out? What can you do in 2012 to invite more of that into your life?
Lavender. Anywhere. I bought some really fantastic lavendar-scented soap while I was in Austin. I also have lavender incense and a great lavender candle I bought from etsy. When my house smells like lavender, chances are, I’m bound to get pretty...

3. Year in Review. As you reflect back on the happenings of 2011, what were your high points and what were your low points? What do you notice as you look back on the year as a whole?
High points were getting a job, moving into my own place and back to my old neighborhood, visiting yosemite and seeing half dome in person, visiting and loving LA, visiting and loving Austin, riding a Vespa,...
